Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

Diamond microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation. A diamond-coated tip gently sands away dead skin cells while a vacuum draws them away. The skin becomes smoother and more even, and the products applied afterwards absorb more easily.

  • Can be taken as a single treatment.
  • For an effect on skin texture: usually a series of six treatments one to two weeks apart.

  1. The practitioner goes through your skin and your wishes.
  2. The skin is cleansed and exfoliated.
  3. Impurities are removed if needed.
  4. The treatment ends with serum, a mask and care suited to your skin.

The treatment takes 45–60 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

The treatment does not hurt. It feels like light scratching and suction.

  • Common: slight redness and tightness for a few hours.
  • Rare: small bruises from the vacuum or irritation.

  • Use mild skincare for the first day.
  • Wait until the evening or the next day before wearing make-up, if you can.
  • Use a high-factor sunscreen.
  • Avoid saunas and hard exercise for the rest of the day.

No downtime. The skin can be slightly red for a few hours.
