Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

HydraFacial is a facial in several steps with its own device. The skin is cleansed and exfoliated, a mild acid loosens impurities, and suction draws them out of the pores. Finally, serums with hydration and antioxidants are applied. There are versions for acne and rosacea, for the décolleté, with retinol and with a mild TCA peel (BioRePeel).

  • Can be taken as a single treatment, for example a few days before an occasion.
  • For better skin quality: a series of four to six treatments two to four weeks apart.
  • Maintenance once a month.

  1. The practitioner assesses your skin.
  2. The skin is cleansed and exfoliated.
  3. A mild acid is applied, and impurities are drawn out with suction.
  4. Serums with hydration and antioxidants are applied, possibly followed by LED light.

The treatment takes 45–60 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

The treatment does not hurt. The suction feels like a light pull.

  • Common: slight redness for a few hours.
  • Uncommon: a few small spots in the first days as the skin clears.
  • Rare: irritation or an allergic reaction to a product.

  • Use mild skincare for the first day.
  • Wait until the evening or the next day before wearing make-up, if you can.
  • Use a high-factor sunscreen.
  • Avoid saunas and hard exercise for the rest of the day.

No downtime. The skin can be slightly red for an hour or two, and make-up can be worn the same day. With BioRePeel or retinol, the skin can flake lightly for a few days.
