What it is
Laser removal of unwanted or old permanent makeup.
Treatment protocol
Number : 3-8 treatments usually
Interval : 6-8 weeks
Effect : Gradual fading
Colors : Black/brown lighter than red

Moderate pain. Similar to PMU treatment. Anesthesia may be used.
Downtime
Minimal, but redness and swelling for 2-5 days after each treatment.
Healing time
Per treatment :
- Day 0-3: Redness, swelling
- Day 3-7: Flaking
- Week 2-6: Gradual fading of pigment
- Week 6-8: Ready for the next treatment
Total : 6-12 months for complete series
Side effects
- Redness and swelling (2-5 days)
- Hyperpigmentation (temporary)
- Hypopigmentation (temporary)
- Scarring (rare)
- Incomplete removal
Aftercare
After each treatment :
- Keep clean and dry
- SPF PACKAGE REV.
- Don't pick at scabs.
- Do not apply makeup to the area for the first few days.
- Avoid the sun

- Has an unwanted color/shape
- Want to correct PMU for new treatment
Who is this not suitable for?
Those with:
- Very light/white pigment (more difficult to remove)
- Unrealistic expectations of complete removal
- Low patience (requires many treatments)
Important information
IMPORTANT TO KNOW :
- Laser breaks down pigment
- 3-8 treatments are usually required
- Interval: 6-8 weeks between treatments
- Gradual fading
- NOT always complete removal
- Expensive and time-consuming
Contraindications
- Pregnant/breastfeeding
- Active skin problems
- Sunburned skin
- Recent tanning (2 weeks)
- Keloid tendency
Warning signs
- Severe swelling of the eyes (cannot open)
- Signs of infection
- Allergic reaction
- Increasing pain after 48 hours
Individual variations
The number of treatments varies :
- Pigment type and quantity
- Skin type
- Age at PMU
- Depth of pigment
- Dark pigment: Easier to remove
- Light pigment: More difficult to remove
Maintenance
No maintenance after completed series. If partial removal for new PMU: New PMU can be done when desired fade is achieved.
