Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

In a hair and scalp analysis, the practitioner examines your hair and scalp with a magnifying camera. The images show the thickness of the hair, how densely the follicles sit and signs of inflammation, dandruff or an oily scalp. Together with questions about your health, diet and hair habits, the analysis is a basis for advice and a treatment plan. Hair mineral analysis is a separate option.

  1. You answer questions about your health, hair loss and hair habits.
  2. Your hair and scalp are examined with a camera.
  3. The practitioner goes through the images with you.
  4. You get advice and, if relevant, a treatment plan.

Expectations & Safety

Who it's for and safety information

  • The analysis does not replace a medical examination. If illness or a deficiency is suspected, a doctor and blood tests are needed.
  • Hair mineral analysis is not an approved method for making diagnoses.

  • Hair loss, thinning hair or increased shedding.
  • Dandruff, itching or an oily scalp.
  • Anyone who wants a plan before starting treatment.

  • Acute problems such as a fever, wounds or severe inflammation on the scalp. See a doctor instead.
  • Sudden, heavy hair loss. A doctor should assess the cause, preferably with blood tests.

See a doctor if your hair loss is heavy or sudden, or if you have other symptoms such as tiredness, weight change or changed periods.

When hair loss is being treated, a new analysis after three to six months gives a clear picture of the progress.
