Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

PRX-T33 is a peel with 33 % trichloroacetic acid (TCA), hydrogen peroxide and kojic acid. The combination lets the acid work in deeper skin layers without burning the surface the way ordinary TCA peels do. The skin therefore flakes little but gains better texture, firmness and glow. The treatment is also called needle-free biorevitalisation.

  • Usually four to five treatments one week apart.

  1. The practitioner assesses your skin.
  2. The skin is cleansed.
  3. The peel is massaged into the skin in several layers until the desired effect.
  4. The peel is washed off, and the skin is cared for.

  • Avoid retinol, acids and scrubs for a week before.
  • Avoid tanning and self-tan for the last two weeks.
  • If you have had cold sores, tell the clinic before treatment around the mouth.

The treatment takes 30–45 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

Most people rate it 2–4 out of 10. The acid stings and feels warm for a few minutes.

  • Common: redness, stinging, tightness and flaking.
  • Uncommon: spots or dryness.
  • Rare: darker pigment, especially in dark skin, blisters, infection or a cold sore outbreak.

  • Use a mild cleanser, moisturiser and a high-factor sunscreen.
  • Do not peel off flaking skin.
  • Avoid retinol, acids and scrubs for a week.
  • Avoid sun, sunbeds and saunas until the skin has settled.

No or little downtime. The skin can be slightly red for a few hours and flake a little over the next days.
