Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

Deep cleansing is a thorough cleanse of the skin. The skin is cleansed, exfoliated and softened with steam before blackheads and impurities are gently removed. The treatment ends with a soothing mask and care. Deep cleansing can be done on the face, neck and back, and on the scalp.

  • Every four to eight weeks for oily or combination skin.
  • Every six to twelve weeks for dry or normal skin.

  1. The practitioner goes through your skin and your wishes.
  2. The skin is cleansed and exfoliated.
  3. Impurities are removed if needed.
  4. The treatment ends with serum, a mask and care suited to your skin.

The treatment takes 45–60 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

Most people rate it 1–3 out of 10. Extraction of blackheads can feel uncomfortable.

  • Common: slight redness for a few hours.
  • Uncommon: a few small spots in the first days as the skin clears.
  • Rare: irritation or an allergic reaction to a product.

  • Use mild skincare for the first day.
  • Wait until the evening or the next day before wearing make-up, if you can.
  • Use a high-factor sunscreen.
  • Avoid saunas and hard exercise for the rest of the day.

No downtime. The skin can be slightly red for one to two hours, especially after extractions. You can return to your day straight away.

Expectations & Safety

  • Sunburnt, damaged or irritated skin.
  • Infection, an active cold sore or wounds on the face.
