Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

A MID laser is a mid-power laser used for photobiomodulation. The light penetrates muscles, tendons and joints and can affect processes involved in pain, inflammation and repair. The treatment is used for long-term pain in muscles and joints, often together with rehabilitation. The effect varies from person to person.

  • Usually six to ten treatments, one to three times a week.
  • The effect is assessed along the way.

  1. The practitioner goes through your symptoms and your health.
  2. You and the practitioner wear protective glasses.
  3. The laser is held against the skin over the area for a few minutes.
  4. If needed, several points are treated.

Each treatment takes 15–30 minutes.
