What it is

Topical Minoxidil (Rogaine) is applied as part of our treatment or as a home treatment. FDA-approved for stimulating hair growth.

Treatment protocol

Daily use:

• 1-2 times daily application

• Must be used consistently

• After 12 months: Maintenance - continued daily use, effect maintained

Side effects

Common:

• Dry scalp (20-30%)
• Irritation (10-20%)
• Initial shedding months 2-4 (NORMAL)
• Hypertrichosis (has on the face if not careful with application)

Rare:

• Allergic reaction
• Contact dermatitis
• Palpitations (rare, at high doses)
• Increased hair growth on the face/body (in women)

Aftercare

Daily use:

• Apply to dry, clean scalp
• 1ml 1-2 times daily
• Wash your hands afterwards (avoid accidental application to the face)
• Leave for at least 4 hours before washing.
• Be consistent.

Don't do:

• Do not use on wet scalp.
• Do not rinse out immediately
• Don't skip days (consistency is key)
• Do not apply to the face (risk of hypertrichosis)
