Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

Classic massage, also called Swedish massage, works the muscles with long strokes, kneading and friction. The massage can cover the whole body or selected areas, such as the back, neck and shoulders. It releases muscle tension, increases circulation in the skin and muscles, and most people find it relaxing.

  1. The therapist goes through your health and your wishes.
  2. You lie on a massage bench, well covered with towels.
  3. The therapist massages with oil, and the pressure is adapted to you.
  4. You rest for a while at the end.

The massage takes 30–120 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

The massage should not hurt. The pressure is adapted to you, and you can say so along the way.

  • Common: stiffness or tenderness for one to two days.
  • Uncommon: tiredness or a mild headache for the rest of the day.
  • Rare: bruises or an allergic reaction to the oil.

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Take it easy for the rest of the day, if you can.

No downtime.
