Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

In brow lamination, the brow hairs are set in a new direction with a solution that makes the hairs easy to shape. The hairs are brushed up and out, and a second solution fixes the shape. The result is fuller, neater brows that keep their shape for six to eight weeks. The treatment can be combined with tinting.

  • The lashes or brows should be clean and free of make-up, oil or serum on the day.
  • If you wear contact lenses, take them out before the treatment.
  • The first time you tint your brows or lashes, or if it is long since last time, you should have an allergy test at least 48 hours before. The practitioner places a little tint behind your ear or in the crook of your elbow.

  1. The practitioner goes through the shape you want.
  2. The brows are cleansed.
  3. A solution makes the hairs easy to shape, and the hairs are brushed in the desired direction.
  4. A second solution fixes the shape. The brows can be tinted and shaped at the end.

The treatment takes 45–60 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

The treatment does not hurt. The solution can smell a little.

  • Common: slight redness of the skin for an hour or two.
  • Uncommon: dry or brittle hairs if the treatment is repeated too often.
  • Rare: stinging in the eyes or an allergic reaction to the solution or tint.

  • Keep water, steam and make-up off the lashes or brows for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid saunas, steam and hard exercise for the first day.
  • Use a nourishing oil or serum from day two, if you like.

No downtime. Keep the brows dry for the first day.

Expectations & Safety

Who it's for and safety information

  • If you use retinoids on your skin, or have taken tablets for acne in the last six months, tell the practitioner. The skin can then be more fragile.
  • Wait at least six weeks between laminations, so the hairs do not dry out.

  • Brows with hairs that point in different directions.
  • Thin or uneven brows that should look fuller.
  • Anyone who wants to spend less time on their brows each day.

  • Wounds, eczema, spots or irritated skin in the brow area.
  • Recently sunburnt skin on the face.

The shape lasts six to eight weeks. After that, the hairs grow out in their usual direction.

  • A known allergy to the solutions or the tint.
  • Wounds, eczema or infection in the brow area.

Contact the clinic if you get itching, swelling, a rash or watery, red eyes after the treatment. If you get swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing, call 113.
