Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

In brow tinting, a tint is applied to the brow hairs, so they become darker and more defined. Light and thin hairs become visible, and the brows look fuller. The colour is chosen for your hair colour and skin tone. Henna is an alternative that also stains the skin beneath, so the brows look fuller.

  • The first time you tint your brows or lashes, or if it is long since last time, you should have an allergy test at least 48 hours before. The practitioner places a little tint behind your ear or in the crook of your elbow.
  • Come without make-up on your brows and lashes, if you can.

  1. The practitioner chooses the colour with you.
  2. The skin around the brows is protected with a cream.
  3. The tint is applied and left to work for a few minutes.
  4. The tint is removed, and the brows can be shaped at the end.

The treatment takes 15–30 minutes.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

The treatment does not hurt.

  • Uncommon: stinging or redness of the skin where the tint has been.
  • Rare: an allergic reaction to the tint, with itching, swelling or a rash.

  • Avoid washing or rubbing the brows for the first hours.
  • The tint lasts longest if you avoid oil and exfoliation on the brows.

No downtime.
