Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

In nail cutting, the nails are cut and filed to an even length and shape. The treatment suits anyone who finds it hard to cut their own nails, for example because of eyesight, stiffness or thick nails.

  1. The nails are cut straight across.
  2. The edges are filed smooth.
  3. The cuticles are cared for if needed.

The treatment takes about 30 minutes.

  • Very rare: infection.

  • Apply cream to your hands and feet every day.

No downtime.

Expectations & Safety

Who it's for and safety information

  • Nail fungus and ingrown nails are treated by a foot therapist or a doctor.

  • Anyone who finds it hard to cut their own nails.
  • Thick or hard nails.
  • Older people who need help with nail care.

  • Wounds, infection or eczema on the feet.
  • Diabetes with wounds, reduced sensation or poor circulation in the feet. An authorised foot therapist is then the right choice.

The nails need cutting every four to eight weeks.
